Taking on the Angry Birds

Angry Birds Star WarsThis little project is something that I have wanted to do for a while now but have only just got round to starting it recently. It all started about 3 years ago when I first came across Angry Birds…

I am not sure whether I love the game or hate it with a passion but either way, I am addicted to it and always find myself having a quick go :)

Whilst playing a few years back, I got stuck on a particular level and just could not get them 3 stars (my OCD kicks in at this point and will never move on to another level until I have got my 3 stars), so in my plight to attain perfection, I decided to cheat a bit and took to YouTube to find the answer. On my arrival to YouTube, I found hundreds of video tutorials and walkthroughs providing information on how to get 3 stars on various different Angry Birds levels; not only were there lots of videos…the amount of views they were getting was well in to the hundreds of thousands and even millions. The first thing I thought was “I could do that” and after nearly 3 years, I have.

Angry Birds Star Wars is the latest edition of the Angry Birds so I thought that it would be a good idea to start with this one just to see how much traction I get.

So far I have uploaded 41 videos to my Angry Birds YouTube Channel and below is a sneak preview of one of my videos.

At the minute, I have undertaken this project as a bit of fun. The videos are monetised through AdSense on YouTube but at this moment in time, there is no real plan to take it any further than this but who knows (Watch this Space) no pun intended :)

Content First…Profit Later

Content First Profit LaterBefore I embark on my latest online project, I want to take this opportunity to write down a few words about website content.

Since starting The SEO Experiment I have been looking into various different methods of monetising my online content without paying any real attention to customer value. Yes I have always tried to write the best possible content on The SEO Experiment; but if I am totally honest, the content on my affiliate sites has been created purely with profit in mind.

One of the first things I did when creating my first monetised website, Staffordshire Fitness, was to insert my AdSense blocks into the page layout and then build the content around them. Looking back at this project I can see many mistakes but if I had to single out one in particular, which I could take forward as a real lesson learnt, it would be the decision to implement monetisation too quickly. I am by no means an expert when it comes to Internet Marketing (IM) but I am quickly realising that to be successful, you need to provide value to your reader; although this may seem like an obvious statement to make, I assure you that it is an easy step to overlook and one which many IMs fail to grasp.

One of the best features about the Shopperpress WordPress theme is the ability to import multiple products from Amazon at the click of a button.

Amazon is a household name, its reputation as an online seller is second to none and it makes great sense as an internet marketer to make the most of this.

The following video shows how easy it is to add  Amazon products in to your Shopperpress website:

The UKMA Finder – Backlinking Strategy part 1

Backlinking ImageIn this post I am going to share with you, the backlinking strategy I will be using to promote my Martial Arts directory.

Backlinking is the process of creating a hyperlink which is directed at your content from another website. The influence of Backlinks is a widely debated topic within the world of SEO and is constantly changing as search engine algorithms evolve. My stance on the whole backlinking topic is that although I have experienced major placement increases as a result of targeted backlinks; it must and should not be abused. There is no doubt that back links are a huge ranking factor for major search engines, none more so than Google; but recent algorithm updates such as Panda and Penguin have confirmed that Google are becoming wise to backlink abuse and you will do well to proceed with extreme caution. You do not want to wake up one morning to find your internet presence has all but disappeared as many internet marketers have experienced recently as a result of algorithm updates.
